It’s a great place for nature lovers and it is spread across about 250 acres. There is a lake, bonsai park, rose garden, pond etc. One can spend time with friends or family and kids will definitely enjoy playing here. There is an entry fee of 30.Parking was little crowded-in the weekend but was available.

Today i visited here with my family. It is a 240 acres of trees, plants, and flowers, this is one of the largest botanical gardens. There is even a lake inside. It is connected by metro, although it is accessible by bus and other mode of transportation. A magnificent garden in the midst of the city is a great place to visit. It's wonderful to see such large and old trees of various species. I'm glad it's being well preserved and cared for. Nature can readily be enjoyed for a few hours. You can spend time here with your family members; currently, the entry cost is Rs.30/- per person.Plastic products, including water bottles, are not permitted inside.Overall, a pleasant spot to spend your time.

It's a perfect destination to unwind, connect with nature, and revel in the beauty of well-preserved flora. Lalbagh Botanical Garden truly offers a delightful retreat, making it a wonderful spot for those seeking a harmonious blend of nature and tranquility.

All times are best to visit this place. But since they host a flower show twice a year, one on Independence day and another on republic day, that makes it the best time. On these 2 occasions since the queue is long, it's always better to reach by 6:45am to have a nice view of the show. But yes the show is usually inside the glasshouse, and they have a ticketing system for the entry during these 2 occasions, but otherwise you can go to any area of the garden without any charges. In general the garden is huge, spread over 240 acres with 4 entrances, and for for 1st timers there is a high probability of getting lost. Because I did. Within the premises there are flowers shops selling small plants, a wide variety of pots, protective items for plants, and many more. You can get snacking options also at one portion of the garden. The garden is huge and beautiful and one would have great walks inside. And it's not limited to walks, you will find various groups of people doing yoga. Its open for anything and everything. But just that we must maintain the littering situation here.If one stays close by to this, they must visit here as regular as possible as the vibe is very positive.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is covered with lush green trees, flowers, and more. There are three entry points from different aspects. To enter this place, you need to buy a ticket at the entrance. There is ample parking space, and parking is only available at the east gate entrance. In the guest rooms, you can see various types of roses in the rose garden, glass house, and flower clock. We recommend visiting this place in spring to see the gardens filled with flowers and green grasses.Entry: 30/person

Lush green park, perfect for a family visit. As well for a jog / walk alone. It has a well maintained lake along with a running track (which can be made more run friendly). Currently it's uneven. Overall upkeep can be improved too, with better signage and stricter measures to curb waste spills.Good that it has entry on all four sides and metro connectivity for better commute.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a beautiful and serene escape in the heart of the city. The gardens are incredibly well-maintained, with lush greenery and a wide variety of plants and trees, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a relaxing day out. The place truly comes alive during their famous flower shows, which are absolutely stunning. However, if you're specifically looking to catch these vibrant displays, make sure to visit during festivals or national holidays, as that's when the flower shows are held. Overall, it's a must-visit for nature lovers and anyone looking for a bit of tranquility.

Great place to visit for a morning or evening jog/walk with family or friends. But during the weekends, it is overcrowded. I went on a Sunday evening and it took me more than 20 minutes only to park my vehicle. But there is ample parking space inside. Security staff is helpful.Lot of greenery inside. Lake side promenade is beautiful. There is a small hillock where people go. Flower shows take place twice a year ( August & January), that attracts thousands of visitors. Usually maintained well but littering is seen during weekends. One can purchase saplings, plants from the nursery. There are many shops that sell seasonal fruits and handicraft items. Drinking water & toilet facility is available.

Lalbagh botanical Garden is awesome place to see different varieties of flowers, plants and huge trees. Usually a week around the independence and republic day, there used to be flower show celebration. One another beautiful attraction is the glass house. Don't miss the huge 200 years old white silk cotton tree

I have visited this place with my friend during the flower exhibition and it was public holiday so the place was overcrowded. It’s a huge space spread across huge land. There are multiple things you can do here. It also has lakeside, botanical garden, trees are spread across and there are so many huge trees which you have not seen. This was really great experience for me. You should go to this place with lot of time because you would love to spend time with nature. You can go for walk, run, meet-up, picnic, spend sometime with yourself or with friends, family or loved ones. This is the best place to meet Mother Nature.

Really enjoyed my walk through the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens! They have monstrously large trees on display here, very impressive! The grounds, gardens and paths are kept clean. Relaxing way to spend an afternoon walking around or even just sitting amongst the trees.Sadly, the glass house and Cacti buildings were closed when I was there (the glass house looked permanently closed); but that didn't take from my experience here. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Andre K — Google review

It's nice to go for a walk in the morning rather than visiting it as a picnic spot. Entry is free from 6 to 9 in the morning. It's enjoyable to climb the rock hill and simply sit at the top of it. However, I wouldn't recommend visiting during the occasional flower shows, as they are not worth the money.

The Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bangalore is a vibrant celebration of India's rich floral diversity. Showcasing an exquisite array of flowers, plants, and intricate floral arrangements, this event offers a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts and tourists alike. The themed gardens, floral sculptures, and creative designs not only celebrate Republic Day but also promote environmental awareness and the importance of preserving India's floral wealth. Overall, it's a visually stunning and culturally enriching experience that captivates visitors and highlights the beauty of our natural heritage.

Good place to hang out. But will be crowdy in weekend. Ticket rate is 30 for adult. Payment to be made in cash only as they are not accepting UPI payment. Visitors are not allowed to carry plastics inside including water bottles and they may check bags of visitors. Garden is well maintained but you may also see some signs of aging in the infrastructure.Visitors can freely roam around and can spend time in garden without any restriction. Overall it will be a pleasant experience.

A very peaceful and beautiful place. The area is really huge and it's a good spot to spend your weekend with family or friends, especially in the evening. The flowers are properly arranged and the huge trees are a treat to the eye, so is the lake.

Have always loved these beautiful serene gardens in the heart of Bangalore. Visited the Independence day flower show 2024. The glass house looks as lovely as ever. They r renovating the gardens but they have long way to go. They can implement stricter measures on the use of plastic. The lake also needs more attention. They can charge a higher entry fee and collect funds for these things. Currently entry is INR 100 for adults for the flower show. The trees are huge, gnarly, spread out and bestow their gentle shade like benevolent old friends. I always feel at peace here. If you want to avoid crowds visit on weekdays.

Shraddha D — Google review

Beautiful place. So many trees. So many flowers. It is a very interesting place if you love all these. There are quite a few nurseries in there as well if you want to buy a few plants. There are large lakes as well if you want to sit and enjoy the view. Do note that it will get quite crowded on weekends, especially during the flower show that happens during Independence Day and Republic Day. So, plan accordingly. There is a waterfall show as well but there are some timings for that, so check and visit if you want to see the waterfall.

It's a good place to hangout.. Good climate there. Only 30rs entry fees... You can enjoy many lakes there. I gave it 4 stars because when I visited, the glass building (for what it is famous for) was under Maintenance unfortunately I couldn't go there... Overall place is good...

I have been to this garden many times. Every time I visit, it makes me closer towards the nature. Such a big place with different varieties of trees and species. The best time of the day to visit is in the evening though it closes by 6pm. Inside the compound they have motor cars to take you around the garden in case you don't want to walk all the way round. Even it has a lake inside. Must visit place if you are in Bangalore. Easily accessible from any part of the city. This year (2021) was disappointing. We visited a day before republic day to see the flowers and decorations which they generally do during this time of the year but nothing was there. No flowers nothing. Maximum of the areas are either empty or closed. Pandemic effect. But whatever it is we enjoyed the walk surrounded by the trees and had nice pictures.

The Independence Day flowers show was a vibrant and patriotic celebration of nature's beauty intertwined with the spirit of freedom. The event, held on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, showcased a stunning array of flowers, each carefully curated to represent the colors and diversity of the nation.Upon entering the venue, visitors were greeted by a breathtaking display of red, white, and blue blooms that echoed the flag's emblematic hues. The meticulous arrangement of roses, carnations, and orchids formed intricate patterns, paying homage to the national flag. The fragrance of the flowers wafted through the air, creating an atmosphere of reverence and unity. The show featured a diverse range of flowers indigenous to the country, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage and regional diversity. Marigolds and lotus flowers adorned the displays, representing various states and traditions. Additionally, floral installations of historical figures and landmarks evoked a sense of pride and nostalgia. One of the highlights was a mesmerizing "Floral Freedom Wall," where visitors could pin notes of gratitude and aspirations using petals. This interactive exhibit beautifully captured the essence of the day, fostering a sense of communal spirit and remembrance.

The botanic garden is a very peaceful place to be on a warm Sunday afternoon. There are a lot of beautiful flowers and plants from all over the world. If you buy the ice cream, be aware of the cheeky monkeys! We saw a cheeky monkey snatching the ice cream from a guy's hand!

These gardens are a huge expanse of land that can be enjoyed on one’s own or with company. It surely would have been more helpful if a guide could have been assigned to explain the park’s history (which I’m not sure of but must go back a few hundred years), but since this is missing wear something comfortable, tie those sneaker laces and explore the park on your own.Walk along the huge rocks and paths through the park, with intermittent green patches, including a band stand and greenhouse that took me back to a different era.The park also has trees that are hundreds of years old and labelled by their scientific name. It also shares a common boundary wall with the Karnataka High Court and areas that are frequented by lovers and families alike. The park even has a tranquil lake to sit by and enjoy the day.I was fortunate enough to witness the flower shower in the park this year, which was spectacular! Entire scenes and forms were created with live flowers which was lovely to watch.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. We took a guided paid tour ticket on an electric car. The driver stops and shares important points about the garden. An oasis of peace and serenity in the midst of never-ending Bangalore traffic! Lalbagh Botanical Garden is filled with lush greenery, and all you will hear is birds chirping away! It's very huge and would take at least some hours to explore thoroughly. Owing to the size of the garden, there are golf carts available for visitors. Personally, I would recommend walking around if you are able to. Lalbagh does not have too many flowers, especially in the summer season. Flowers bloom on a seasonal basis, so be mindful of when to plan your visit. Anyhow, the place is filled with lots of trees and feels cooler than the rest of the city! There are ice cream vendors inside the garden so you can have a refreshing treat whenever you wish to!I went with my friend and had a wonderful time. This place is a must-visit for nature lovers, as well as those seeking some quiet time away from the chaos of city life.P.s. Plastic bottles are not allowed inside.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is an botanical garden in Bangalore, India, with an over 200-year history. Lalbagh is a 240 acres garden. It has a lake , lotus ponds ,rose garden, park and a glass house. From Flower show point of view , the glass house is the best part otherwise there is not much to enjoy as such. Plays and music events take place during the evening in local language. The campus is huge. Lot of walking which is a healthy activity in today's world. Management need to focus more on the landscaping and beautification of the campus.

No rivets required if you leave before 9 a.m. Wonderful serene Garden does over 260+ acres with lots of flora & fauna, a lake and huge grounds to walk on. Parking available through East Gate entrance. Definitely worth visiting, recommended for daily morning walks if staying within 3/4 km radius

RAJAN S — Google review

The trees in this garden are absolutely amazing. Massive, well established, and breathtaking. The garden as a whole is fairly run down, and the glass house that is the "main" attraction was very disappointing. It's not expensive to get in, so it's still worth its money, but I was just expecting more, especially with the climate in India.Bathrooms were clean, a little old, but working. I loved that for once in India, there were bins every 20-30meters, but it's a pity that the locals still throw their rubbish on the ground even with the warning signs that you will get fined.

The pride of the garden city. Lalbagh is spread across 240 acres in the midst of the busy Bengaluru it provides a serene landscape and peace. The entry fee is Rs.30. There is a small shop inside near the covered garden with 2x the price. There is a lake and all the beautiful that greens can offer.

Flower show happens twice a year , once during Republic day and another during Independence day. Crowd can be still more better handled and we as a responsible citizens need to maintain the cleanliness inside the park. On August 15, 2024, I visited the Lalbagh Flower Show in Bangalore. The flower show opened its doors early in the morning, welcoming visitors to enjoy the beauty of the garden from 9:00 AM. Adults could enter with a ticket priced at 80 rs, while children under 12 years old could join for just 30 rs.There was a lovely waterfall where water flowed down in a pretty way. You could see it at different times during the day: from 9:30 AM to 10 AM, 11:30 AM to 12 PM, 3 PM to 3:30 PM, and 5:30 PM to 6 PM.Next to the waterfall, there was a fountain that sprayed water and colorful lights, making it look magical. You could watch the fountain show from 6 AM to 6 PM.The Lalbagh Lake was like a big, shiny mirror reflecting the green trees around it. Some birds and even few turtles soaking up the sun. You could hang out by the lake all day, chill out, and enjoy the peaceful vibes. It is a place where you could feel calm and happy surrounded by nature. The Glass House, was like a giant crystal palace made of clear glass, it is like fairy tale garden with flower for multiple colors in beautiful pattern and designAs you walked through the Glass House, you could smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers and feel the warm sun streaming in through the glass walls. Everywhere you looked, there were vibrant blooms in shades of red, pink, yellow, and purple, creating a kaleidoscope of colors. The intricate designs and careful placements of the flowers made the Glass House look like a work of art. It was a feast for the eyes, with each flower adding its own special touch to the overall beauty of the display.

If you're visiting Bangalore, a trip to this park is an absolute must! Nestled within its expansive grounds lies a picturesque lake, surrounded by lush greenery that stretches as far as the eye can see. The park boasts a plethora of stalls offering freshly picked fruits and refreshing soft drinks, perfect for a leisurely stroll on a sunny day.During my visit, I was delighted to spot various species of birds gracefully gliding overhead, while playful squirrels frolicked amongst the trees. The park's serene atmosphere is punctuated by the presence of couples lost in love and families enjoying quality time together.Despite its popularity, the park maintains strict rules to preserve its natural beauty—a commendable effort that enhances the visitor experience. Facilities such as public toilets are available, although it's wise to carry tissues, especially for travelers from the UK.The well-maintained walkways provide ample space for exploration, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. I highly recommend visiting either in the morning or evening to avoid the sweltering midday heat.At a mere 30 rupees entry fee, equivalent to a mere 30 pence in British currency, this park offers incredible value for money. Towering trees, some dating back centuries, add to the park's enchanting ambiance, making it a true gem amidst the urban landscape. My fiancé, our 13-year-old son, and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and I have no doubt that you will too. Make sure to add this gem to your Bangalore itinerary—you won't regret it!

If you are in bengaluru and you like trees or parks you must have to visit this botanical Garden. We should enter by taking the tickets outside the garden the cost of a ticket for a adult is Rs. 30. There are a variety of species of trees (You can get nice photos in this location). The maintenance is so good.

Beautiful place with gardens, a bandstand, a glasshouse, a nursery and a lake. Took my parents here and they loved it! If you can’t walk around the entire Lalbagh, golf carts are available for 100 rs per person. It is absolutely stunning during flower show. Must visit place in Bangalore!

It's a hallmark place of Bengaluru and also a must visit place. In the recent visit we have tried the EV vehicle tour in the facility. It's 100rs per person, even though they'll start the vehicle only after the vehicle is full. It can be booked at their entrance itself. But majority of times they won't accept any online transaction, they'll ask for cash only.EV vehicle tour is an another good experience, also it's helpful for elderly people and people who have difficulty in long walks. The driver cum guide will explain thoroughly about every details of every structure, special trees, special plants, every building, every landmark etc. also they'll stop for allowing us to take photos and all. It'll take almost 1 to 1.5hour to complete one tour in the EV vehicle, and they drop us back in the entrance itself.

Arrived on a Saturday morning before 10 and no crowds. Paid parking available inside the park, had a little difficulty to find it following google map though. There’s an amazing nursery with wide range variety of plants and soil fertilizer anything you need for gardening. people drive down here from far to get plants. Beautiful park, for 2hours I could only explore 1/4. Buggies are available at East gate.

Beautiful place, plus you can IMMEDIATELY notice the change in air quality, absolutely beautiful flowers and definitely a must to visit when having a stressful week 😆I recommend visiting the nursery too, a plethora of plants and it's priced right, not too high, not too low. Well cared for and definitely a refreshing feeling to interact with the staff who, actually are really good to you, not rude, and friendlier than usually seen in most other shops nowadays in Bangalore 😅There's plenty of flora and fauna which there's enough reviews of, but I must press on the point that it's going to recharge your week for sure after such a vibrant experience here, the grape juice is a hit or miss for most people, I personally have good days and bad days with it.P.S. I recommend visiting the MTR outside for lunch.

Lalbagh botanical garden is one of the famous and oldest tourist spot in Bangalore. It is with full of plants, trees and flowers. Now flower show is also running and worth a visit. There is a lot of crowd to enter into the flower show but all other places are easy to move. There is a lake inside the garden and lots of greenery and lawns make you relaxed. There is rose garden, Japanese garden, water fountain etc. Battery operated buggy is also available. When you go with family or friends, it will be fun to walk, eat, relax and enjoy.
